The texture of cooked kiwis combined with the classical cake batter, enhanced by chocolate chips makes for the perfect cake for tea or breakfast

8 Kiwi (Medium)
170 g Brown Sugar
90 g Butter
3 Eggs (Large)
2 Tangerines (Small)
180 g Self Rising Flour
80 g Dark Chocolate Chips
  1. Preheat oven to 190 C. Grease a 22 cm round shape mould, line the bottom with parchment paper and grease it also
  2. Peel and slice the kiwis. Cover bottom of mould with 2 layers of kiwis, filling spaces between slices.
  3. Sprinkle layers with two tablespoons of light brown sugar
  4. In a bowl, beat the sugar with the butter. Add the eggs, one by one
  5. Add the flour and, finally, the chocolate chips
  6. Spoon the cake mixture into the mould. bake about 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and a skewer comes out clean
  7. Remove from the oven, allow to cool. Turn out onto a serving plate. Carefully peel off the parchment paper and allow to cool completely
