Recipe by cookQ member Sonia Arantes Croquettes made of Farinheira, a Portuguese smoked sausage made mainly from wheat flour, pork fat and seasonings (white wine, paprika, salt and pepper). This traditional delicacy is to be eaten as an appetizer, like a pâté, with crostini or crackers

Parseley Or Chives to measure
1 Farinheira
30 g Butter
1 Lemon
1/2 cu Requeijao (Ricotta Like Cheese)
2 tbs Bread Crumbs
2 tbs Sesame Seeds
2 tbs Poppy Seeds
  1. Cut Farinheira skin all the way around with sharp knife
  2. Melt butter in a non-stick pan. Place farinheira in pan and cook in melted butter over medium heat until it comes apart.
  3. Remove farinheira from heat. Remove skin. Add a lemon juice from 1/2 lemon
  4. Mash requeijao with fork. Add minced parsley or chives. Season with pepper
  5. Add farinheira to cheese blend and mix until you obtain a consistent paste
  6. In a seperate bowl, mix bread crumbs, sesame seeds and poppy seeds
  7. Divide the paste into small portions, forming balls, and cover in bread crumb and seed mix
